Ensuring Equal Rights to Minorities

Islamabad– President Dr Arif Alvi, reassured that the government was fully committed to ensure and protect the equal rights of all the minorities as enunciated by the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in his historic address on August 11, 1947 and as enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan. He was addressing a ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in connection with the Christmas celebrations. The president congratulated the Christian community of Pakistan and across the world on the joyous occasion. He said the minorities' peaceful and harmonious co-existence with the Muslim majority in Pakistan was reflected in the white colour of the National Flag. He said the government would ensure that all the minorities would be treated equally and the onus to that effect was rested with the relevant authorities. All of us are stressed because of COVID-19. We can’t go out without the fear of getting exposed to the virus. We hear news about the exponential growth of the virus and it is very scary. We are stuck at homes and day by day it is getting frustrating. During the PM Imran Khan’s live telethon on the national television, he had held women of Pakistan responsible for the corona-virus pandemic. In the start people were not taking in seriously and it started of affect people in an exponential rate.   There are now almost 314,097 cases of corona all around the world. It caused around 13,566 deaths till now and only 95,874 people have recovered from the virus. If we see the growth of the spread it’s increasing day by day. More and more people are getting infected from the virus. China had the most cases in the start but now the rate by which Italy is getting infected is getting higher.
